A WORK OF ART IS A JOY FOREVER!
And let's keep it that way. Artworks need careful handling and lot of TLC. However, some basic precautions can have you enjoy your favorite artwork for a long long time - Even pass it down as a family heirloom to your children. Won't that be wonderful!!
Here are some tips on how to preserve, display and frame your paper surfaces. Mostly used with watercolor, graphite, Charcoal and pen & ink mediums, paper is a versatile art surface but rather more fragile than canvas and wood.
Paper bends, tears and gets stains easily. Plus it can get moisture damage if left out in the open and lose its shape.
.
Always handle paper artwork with clean, washed hands. Any oil or dirt in your fingertips will leave a permanent mark.

1. STORING: If you are not displaying your artwork, use a clear plastic sheet to store them, preferably the one that seals to ensure no moisture gets into it. Back it up with a cardboard and make it lie flat in a less used drawer or inside a box. Separate each artwork with a layer of wax paper.

2. FRAMING: Choose a good framer who will know how to gently stretch your paper artwork, and frame it with glass protector. Ensure that the back panel is properly sealed as well to prevent moisture and fungus.

3. PLACEMENT: Its time to display your artwork!! Choose a well lit and bright spot. You may use overhead focus light but do not place them in direct sunlight. Over time, it will leach the colors and the painting will get dull.
Keep collecting all the art that calls to you, because Art brings instant joy and healing to our lives. Or gift Original Art on holidays and special occasions and you can make sure that this gift will be remembered and valued.
Let's keep those meaningful colors in our lives!!
Happy holidays. ❤️
